The IOTV is a side-opening vest that provides a greater area of coverage than the Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) and weighs three pounds less. The IOTV enhancements over the OTV include: increased number of available sizes for Soldiers with long torsos.
As the most up-to-date body armor available, IBA is a modular body armor system that con-sists of an outer vest, ballistic plates and attachments that increase the areas of coverage. The system increases sol-dier survivability by stopping or slow-ing bullets and fragments and reducing the number and severity of wounds.
