2023年10月19日 · So I used to game at 1080p, then I switched to 1440p , huge difference in clarity for me but I have seen some friends 4K monitors and setups and sure it looks great but unless you are okay with being on the bleeding edge of top of the line hardware all the time I think the performance hit just isn’t worth it over 1440p when honestly 1440p looks great

Idk about gaming at 4k on a 1080 ti but gaming on a 3080 ti is definitely worth it. 40 series will likely make it way more worth it. I'm hoping to game 4k at 120hz+ with high settings when they come out. Currently most modern AAA games I play with my 3080 ti I'll get 60-80 fps on high settings. Older games will hit 120+ fps.

It absolutely is worth it at 32" for singe player games. You can see so much detail with the sharp textures and you don't need strong AA as you would on lower resolutions. (so no shitty TSAA). I'd jump 1440p for 4K singleplayer gaming any-day as I already have a secondary 1080p 240hz monitor for my esports stuff. That being said.

When I used my 28" 4k I had to use windows scaling for everything because the PPI was so high. On top of that, because gaming is 90% of usage -- I was losing a ton of fps for the pleasure of more clarity. 1440p 27" is already 109 PPI, that's not amazing but it's actually a sweetspot for GPU performance, it's not insane clarity like a 4k 27" which has 150 PPI or so but it's also not …
