Aug 10, 2019 · I’m wanting to get some bits that can be used in maintaining my Leatherman Wave+. I know it requires security (tamper-proof) torx bits, but despite all the searching and forum-reading I’ve done I can’t definitively figure out what size it takes. Some folks say T7, T8, T9, and T10. One guy I read even said T11, which doesn’t exist.

Jan 3, 2012 · Pre-2004 Wave I really like mine, had it since fall 2001. It's the original Wave, or what's often refered to a a pre-2004 Wave. Been on every outdoor trip and travel trip I've taken since I bought it. Supposedly the modifications that Leatherman made to the Wave in 2004 were all locking tools and a wider smooth edge blade.

Dec 23, 2014 · Leatherman Wave sheath My Leatherman Fuse came with this pouch and has the little loops on each side. I keep a ferro rod on one side and small Victorinox on the other loop that has a mini light on the ring. I also keep a Victorinox Officer Suisse inside the pouch with the Fuse.

Jan 3, 2012 · BIG difference! The Blast is constructed cheaper than the Wave. The pliers twist easily, where the wave is a solid unit. Other internal tools feel very flexible. I'm still carrying the Wave and the Blast is relegated to survival kit duty in my truck. As far as brand preference, I'm with leatherman all the way.

Dec 5, 2013 · My input here is to plug the Leatherman Charge tti. I carry mine every day, fantastic tool. There are a few great features that the Wave doesn't have. For one, the grips are textured, not perfectly smooth like they are on Wave and many other models. Another one I really like the cutting hook that's on the back of the serrated knife. Very handy.

Mar 3, 2023 · Many of us love the Leatherman Wave multitool. But one thing it lacks to make it really great for bushcrafting is an awl. I decided to fix that, and learned via the interwebs that the awl from a Rebar is a “drop-in” fit if you remove an existing tool from the Wave. So I found a Rebar awl for a few bucks from a seller on Etsy and went at it.

Feb 2, 2022 · Though I really don't use my Leatherman often, I found the difference in price and weight and particularly the detachable saw of the Surge not to my liking and I chose the Leatherman Wave +. Honestly, it still has more tools than I would ever actually use. The tools I do use are the pliers/wire cutter, plain blade, scissors and saw.

Oct 21, 2016 · I have a Leatherman Charge and if it is the same file with cross cut on one side and diamond on the other, the diamond side is somewhere between medium and fine. I use it to square the backs of my knives if I ding them up trying to spark them with a flint. I have used it to file down a small rolled notch in my hatchet head.
