Certain situations may call for a bullet of stronger construction, but I can hardly think of a better general use "come what may" large game bullet. You can look up my bullet performance report from the giraffe / 9.3x62. Worked perfectly.

2018年7月9日 · The Norma Oryx is a jacketed lead core bullet so Nosler Data below is a good solid guide of 64-68 grains. Alliant has one load for the 300 gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw in their online data base below of 70 grains, and lastly I checked out the Lee Reloading manual who give similar to both of those combined ranging from 61.6 to 70.

It will retain upwards of 90% of its original weight, with expansion exceeding 2.5x the original diameter, as only the rear portion of the Oryx is bonded.

2019年2月28日 · Agreed, the Norma Oryx just gives me more confidence it'll reliably expand with deer, less resistance than a feral hog in general. I honestly haven't seen reviews of the 7mm 140 grain Woodleigh Protected Point bullet beyond what's on the Midway USA website. Guess that'll be a good insomnia activity - looking for more reviews on that bullet.

2014年3月28日 · I prefer Barnes bullets above all, but I will not hesitate to use Norma Oryx bullets. I use Norma bullets in 9.3x74R (285gr), 9.3x62 (285gr), 7x57 (156 and 170gr) and 7x57R (156 and 170gr). They always shoot great and the few I have recovered had excellent expansion and weight retention. Safe shooting

2022年2月15日 · I looked up the bullet specifications on the Lapua website. They state the bullet is "mechanically bonded" which I don't take to mean the same as "bonded" as used by Woodleigh Weldcore, Norma Oryx, Nosler Accubond, or RWS Evo. I believe it's more similar to the Remington Core lokt, Hornady Interlock etc.
