2002年9月27日 · The 'real' Russian hold is probably near extinction but the best characteristics are seen in the bow holds of many players. I fully advocate 'deep' fingers over the frog, flat (ish) knuckles across the top and avoiding the horrible English tradition of 'high' pads, excessive angle and 'floppy' wrist.

The Soviet hold, via Oistrakh and Kogan, characterized by index floating on the stick at second joint from tip (like Russian), but with a low arm and more "flex" at the tip and frog via lifting the index and pinky fingers off for each extremity of the bow. 2022年3月8日 · So for my 15 minute warm up, I hold a small rock in the palm of my left hand that will tap the neck if my hand begins turning, and use the Russian hold to bring my wrist into better alignment. I’ve been doing single bow arpeggios and I’ve notice a vast improvement. I’m also doing some light PT off the violin.
