That didn't work for me (unfortunately), but going through the Playstation Store on the PS4 to make the purchase did! Just wanted to mention for others to also try this out. TL;DR: The mobile/desktop app may fail, but trying to purchase via the PS4 may not.

Thanks for the tip. I deleted my saved Playstation and Sony passwords from the manager in Firefox, then temporarily disabled the option to ask for or save new passwords. After that I manually logged into the Sony Blog and Playstation Store before re-enabling the option to store new passwords (for other sites other than Sony sites).

Jul 7, 2023 · Not possible at all. The region of the PS Store, depends on the country you set when creating the PSN account. Once the country is set, it can never be changed. Not by the user and not by support. Your friend's only option to change the region would be to just create a new PSN account and set the country to US.
