2021年5月5日 · The Ethernet SmoothStepper (ESS) is our flagship product and is much more capable than the USS in terms of features, capabilities and electrical noise immunity. We recommend that anyone considering a Mach compatible motion controller should buy an ESS. The USS is limited to only Mach3 and is more sensitive to electrical noise.
Since the new Ethernet SmoothStepper (ESS) uses the standard Ethernet interface no driver needs to be installed. You do need to install the ESS plug-in for Mach3; this is NOT the same plug-in as the USB version. There is also a Configurator program that is a small utility that allows you to change the IP address of the ESS if you wish to.

What is the Ethernet SmoothStepper? The Ethernet SmoothStepper (ESS) is a high-performance external motion controller for Mach3 and Mach4. Because it has a connector that conforms to the Parallel Port standard, it integrates seamlessly with most devices that the Parallel Port driver of Mach interfaces with.

For your axes (X, Y, Z, A, B and C), the SmoothSteppers can control stepper motor drivers and digital servo motor drivers. We do not support analog servo motor drivers or PWM servo motor drivers. *SmoothStepper Motor signal outputs are only 5V and 24 mA or 32 mA.
