It doesn't prevent the car from starting, it's just a gps tracker. We install the same model at my dealership (only if the customer requests it). You can also see that only the power and ground wires are hooked up, meaning it's only powering the tracker and not interacting with any of the car's systems, besides borrowing some battery power.
