2024年5月8日 · Mind, comparing M1 iPad Air (8GB RAM) and M1 iPad Pro (16GB RAM), it’s interesting to see that the Air was getting more stutters than the Pro. Gamers already know VRAM is pretty important. It would be interesting to see how that plays out given the shared memory architecture on the M-series chipsets.

2021年5月26日 · And yeah, around 36 watts was the most it would use (and some more powerful chargers actually worked worse for some reason, giving the iPad Pro less energy). Personally I use a 29 watt USB-C charger Apple sold a few years ago, charges the iPad nice and fast.

2024年10月1日 · Perhaps the speed boosting intelligence in the cable will assist in talking to the iPad Pro internals. I upgraded my M1 iPad Pro last night to 18.1 the old fashioned way. I plugged my iPad Pro into my Mac Mini. From the Finder window, I made a backup of my iPad, and then upgraded the iPad. If any issues occur, I can roll-back to my previous backup.

Generally PD starts at 18w, which is achieved with higher than 5v (5v can only go to 12w with USB A and 15w with USB C), typically 9v or 12v, while a 10w charger only charge at the 5v voltage.

2024年5月16日 · Pleasantly surprised with this great device, constrained only by the current version of iPadOS. I still would get one, maybe the viewing angles aren’t as darn good as the IPS LCD M2 iPad Pro, but overall it is a better iPad Pro in all regards. Except if you really use the ultra wide camera. 2022年11月19日 · It appears as if just leaving the Kindle app and Safari open is causing the drain. The past couple of nights I have closed both after using the iPad and the battery is only down a couple of percent overnight. Never had to do that on my M1 iPad - not sure if it is the iPad or maybe recent OS changes.

I have just made a simple test, no apps running, only at the Home Screen with brightness a little bit below the middle and the battery dropped 1% in 2.47 minutes (timed on the iphone).

2022年10月24日 · Sure, right now it isn’t necessary to have 16GB RAM in the iPad, but I planned to have the M1 16GB model for years to come and I got it on a little sale back in June. Technically all iPads from 2015-16 are still pretty well future proofed, these newer models having desktop class internals included though, made my decision easer.
